In connection with the extortion case involving 200 crores, Jacqueline Fernandez makes an appearance in court in Patiala.

Because of her involvement in a high-profile money-laundering case involving her ex-husband and infamous con man Sukesh Chandrasekhar, actress Jacqueline Fernandez has testified in front of the Patiala House court. The case has garnered a lot of media attention. In August, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) presented a supplementary chargesheet in which they designated her as a defendant.

Bollywood diva Jacqueline Fernandez finally made an appearance before a Delhi court on Wednesday in connection with the high-profile money-laundering and extortion case featuring her ex-boyfriend and conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar as the lead accused. The case involves a total amount of extortion and money laundering that totals Rs 200 crore. Ever since her name and connection with famous con man Sukesh Chandrasekhar came to the limelight and radar of fans and many shocking revelations came out after that, which shook the industry, the internet, and social media as well, Jacqueline Fernandez has been in the headlines and news for all the wrong and controversial reasons. She has been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons ever since. In relation to this high-profile instance of extortion for financial gain, the name of the actress was not the only one that came to the forefront. Nora Fatehi’s name was also one of those that came under scrutiny.

The actress from “Cirkus” made her appearance in front of the Patiala House Courts’ Special Judge Shailendra Malik as the court began hearing the accusations that had been indicted against Fernandez. In a case involving money laundering, the Patiala House Court in Delhi on Saturday asked the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to collect and file the report from the Forensic Science Laboratory. According to the claims that were published on a prominent Indian entertainment website, the 37-year-old actress was called for and summoned after the court issued this directive.

Earlier in the month of May, the judge gave the actress permission to fulfil her professional obligations while she is away from the United States between the dates of May 25 and the middle of June. The application that Fernandez submitted revealed that the actress desired authorization to travel until June 12 so that she could attend the International Indian Film Academy Awards in Abu Dhabi and film a scene in Milan. The defendant in the ‘Vikrant Rona’ star case was granted bail in November of the previous year on the condition that he post a personal bond in the sum of Rs 50,000 along with one surety in the same amount.

Earlier, the Economic Offences Department (ED) seized Rs. 7.2 crore worth of assets and fixed deposits belonging to Fernandez. The actress was believed to have acquired gifts and properties as ‘proceeds’ of crime, according to the government agency.

It was said in the charge sheet that Pinky would select pricey presents for Jacqueline and then deliver them to her home after Chandrashekhar had finished making the necessary funds for them. In December of 2021, the investigation agency submitted the initial charge sheet related to this particular case.
